Sorry for the lack of updates…it was a bit of a busy night. I’m now on the support team after breaking down around the 50K mark. Turns out 2.5 hours of sleep the night before and gastro issues aren’t conducive to finishing a lengthy hike, especially when it’s +40C and you’re climbing ski hills.

I was pretty disoriented from fatigue and dehydration during my last leg and changed my goal from finishing the hike to simply being able to walk off the course on my own (and it was pretty dicey there for a while).

While my teammates insisted they would wait for me for as long as it took, I didn’t want to jeopardize their ability to finish this thing once and for all. Sean, Sean and Liam are a couple hours away from the finish line and I couldn’t be more proud of my team!

You might think dehydration is the greatest danger on a hike like this. It’s actually lightning.

…no thanks to the poorly-marked trail! Ah well only 90K to go.
